青岛理工大学艺术与设计学院成立于2003年。学院坚决贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想，坚持党的教育方针，弘扬 “为党育人，为国育才”教育理念，依托学校理工学科平台，瞄准国家重大战略需求和设计与教育发展的前沿，以艺为轴，工、理、文、艺相结合，打造设计、艺术、文化、科技等融合发展的特色优势，形成了培养方向完备、培养特色鲜明的学科专业体系，为社会培养了6000余毕业生。

学院现设有环境设计系（室内方向、景观方向）、产品设计系、视觉传达设计系、服装与服饰设计系、绘画系、音乐表演系和艺术理论部八个专业系部。现有设计学硕士一级学科授权点和艺术硕士专业学位（MFA）授权点。设计学为山东省博士点精准培育学科。产品设计和环境设计为国家级一流本科专业建设点。

艺术与设计学院现有本科生近1200人，硕士研究生近300人。现有教职员工99人，其中专任教师84人；专任教师中教授12人、副教授33人；拥有博士学位17人；学院高度重视人才队伍建设，师资结构不断改善，整体水平显著提高，逐步建立起一支师德优良、业务精湛、发展态势良好的师资队伍。教师连续获宝钢奖优秀教师、山东省有突出贡献的中青年专家、山东省优秀研究生指导教师等荣誉称号。优秀毕业生和杰出校友遍布国内外相关艺术与设计领域，在建筑与景观设计、家电产品工业设计、智能交互设计、室内设计、视觉传达、陶瓷艺术、文创设计、美术创作、文化遗产研究、艺术理论研究等领域成果优异。

学院设有艺术与设计实验中心、图书资料室，青岛市智能交互与工业产品设计研究中心、青岛理工大学传统设计基因文科实验室、新型面料研发与智能可穿戴设计研究中心、工业设计与品牌研究所、书法艺术研究所、建筑艺术研究所、绘画新材料研究所、现代水墨研究所等教学科研机构，创作、设计服务及研究实力雄厚。与海尔、海信、德才、中车四方等企业机构建有各个方向的实践基地和工作站，并与澳大利亚、俄罗斯、美国、日本、韩国、匈牙利等多国大学建立了合作关系。学院作为唯一高校代表参加2018上合峰会亚太手工艺博览会。连续承办4届全国大学生工业设计大赛山东赛区竞赛等专业赛事。

近几年学院获批国家社科基金、教育部人文社科基金、山东省社科规划项目20余项；发表学术论文400余篇，出版教材、专著20余部，其中1部入选国家“十三五”职业教育国家规划教材书目，发明专利50余项，参与国家、省部级专业展览200余项。师生团队先后取得挑战杯创业计划大赛、中国国际“互联网+”创新创业大赛、德国红点奖、意大利A设计奖、亚洲工业设计大赛、中国设计红星奖、全国大学生机械创新设计竞赛、中国五金产品工业设计大赛、山东省城市建设突出成就奖、泰山文艺奖等众多成果。

学院牢牢把握立德树人根本任务，扎实推进“三全育人”，落实“五育并举”，打造“艺术思政”特色品牌。坚持以人才培养质量为核心，注重创新能力培养，推进学科交叉融合，形成了“1+N”特色教学模式，不断提升学生创新创造能力和综合素养，培养出一批批高质量高素质艺术人才。学生就业情况良好，就业范围广，毕业生适应社会的能力强，受到用人单位普遍欢迎。

School of Artsand Design of Qingdao University of Technology(QUT)was established in 2003. The Schoolacts firmly in Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics and implementing the Party’s educational policy, enhancing the educational concept of “cultivating talent for the Party and the State, develop teaching methods for the new era”. Depending on the platform of science and technology of QUT, the School aims at China’s major strategies and the frontiers of design and education development. On the basis of arts, the School has created the unique advantages of integrated development in design, arts, culture, and technology, etc. by the combination of engineering, science, literature, and arts together. Thus, School of Arts and Design has formed the professional system with comprehensive training directions and distinctive disciplines and trained 6,000 graduates for society.

Now, the School consists of eight majors directions, i.e., Environmental Design (including Interior Design and Landscape Design), Product Design,Visual Communication Design,Textile and Fashion Design, Painting, Music Performance,and Art Studies.The School has been authorized to offer the first-class discipline of Design and Master of Arts (MFA)program. Meanwhile, the Discipline of Design is in the process of the precise cultivation for offering a doctoral degree program in Shandong Province.Product Design and Environmental Design are two majors in the program of national first-class discipline construction for offering bachelor’s degree.

At present, there are nearly 1,200 undergraduates and nearly 300 postgraduates studying at School of Arts and Design. Currently, there are 99 faculty members, 84 of whom full-time teachers, including 12 professors, 33 associate professors, with 17 doctoral degree supervisors. The School attaches great importance to the construction of a talent team, leading to the continuous and significant improvement of the structure of teachers and the overall level of cultivation. Then a team of teachers with excellent morality, consummate teaching skills, and the good developmental trends has been gradually established. Teachers have successively been awarded such prizes as Bao Gang Award for Outstanding Teachers, Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions in Shandong Province, and Outstanding Graduate Instructors in Shandong Province. Besides, outstanding graduates and alumni can be found in the fields of arts and design at home and abroad, including architectural and landscape design, industrial design of household appliances, intelligent interaction design, interior design, visual communication, ceramic art, cultural and creative design, art creation, cultural heritage studies, and art studies, etc. They have gained great achievements in these fields.

The School has enormous potential in innovation, design services, and studies thanks to great facilities and experimental labs for teaching and scientific research, including the Center for Arts and Design, libraries and reference rooms, the Research Center for Qingdao Intelligent Interaction and Industrial Product Design,QUT Traditional Design Gene Liberal Arts Laboratory,Research Center for New Fabric Researchand Development and Intelligent Wearable Design, Institute of Industrial Design and Brand Studies, Institute of Art ofCalligraphy,Institute of Architectural Art,Institute of New Painting Materials, and Institute of Modern Ink Painting, etc.The School has established practice bases and workstations invarious aspects with enterprises such as Haier, Hisense, DecaiGroup,CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., etc. In the meantime, cooperation has also been built with universities in Australia, Russia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Hungary, and other countries.As the only representative of universities, the School participated in the 2018 SCO Summit Asia-Pacific Handicraft Expo.Moreover, the School has successively hosted such professional competitions as China Universities Industrial Design Competition (Shandong Division) for four years.

In recent years, the School has been approved for more than 20 projectsofthe National Social Science FundofChina, the Humanities and Social Science Fund of the Ministry of Education of China, and the Social Science Planning Project of Shandong Province of China. The School has published over 400 academic papers and more than 20 textbooksor academic monographs, one of which was selected as one of the national programs of textbook publishment for vocational education supported by the 13th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China (the 13th Five-Year Plan). The School has also over 50 invention patents and has participated inmore than 200 professional exhibitions at national or provincial levels.Teachers and students have successively won the “Challenge Cup” Entrepreneurship Competition, China College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Red Dot Award, A Design Award & Competition, Asian Design Award, China Design Red Star Award, National College Mechanical Innovation Design Competition, China Hardware Products International Design Awards, Outstanding Achievement Award for Urban Construction in Shandong Province, Taishan Literature and Art Award, and many other achievements.

Firmly insisting on the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and morality, the School solidly promotes“three-dimensionaleducation” and implements the concept of “educating five domains simultaneously”, thus building the unique brand of“arts forideology and politics”.With talent training quality as the core, the School focuses on the cultivation of innovative ability and promotes the cross-integration of disciplines, forming the distinctive “1+N” teaching model.In this way, by continuously improving the innovative and creative abilities and comprehensive qualities of the students, the School has cultivated many art talents with high and professional qualifications.
